Families First Society is the Parent Link Centre for Fort Saskatchewan and Sturgeon County; a charitable organization serving families through early childhood development, parenting programs and family support.  When our community – our village – works together, we improve the lives of families.  We create a safe environment to nurture strong healthy future generations.

Families First is currently recruiting for several positions within the areas of:

  • family support,
  • program assistance and facilitation,
  • program coordination, supervision and management,
  • as well as organizing program supports.

These positions will be structured around the strengths of the individuals chosen and will range from casual to full-time permanent. Therefore, positions may stand alone or may be combined together.  Families First will work with the successful candidates to determine the structure of the positions.

Positions Available

Program Manager
(minimum commitment: full-time permanent)

The Program Manager is a full-time permanent employee who is responsible for overseeing and managing the planning, coordinating, and facilitating of programs for Fort Saskatchewan and Sturgeon County.  Role also includes supervision of program staff.

Starting immediately; salaried position based off an average of 37.5 hours per week.

Program Assistant in Sturgeon County
(commitment: casual contract)

 The Program Assistant in Sturgeon County is a casual position spanning our program year from September to June.  This individual will assist the Program Facilitator with programs delivered on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings.  Responsibilities include space set-up and tear-down; after program clean-up, as well as assisting during program time with the delivery of the program activities, crafts, and play.  Starting mid-August; up to 15 hours per week.

Supervisor, Children’s Programmers
(commitment: casual contract)

The Supervisor of Children’s Programmers is a casual position requiring an individual with solid knowledge of the many programs offered through Families First.  Program facilitation experience is an asset.  Responsibilities include: supervision; one-on-one and group support of children’s programmers; scheduling and hosting children’s programmers’ meetings at beginning, mid, and end of program year; liaising with the Scheduler of Children’s Programmers and Program Manager.  Starting mid-August; approximately 10-15 hours per week.
